A SPIRITED EVENT!
THE PSYCHIC WORKSHOP kicked off with a bang in 2004 with a Halloween Book Release Party at Club Cafe in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, hosted by Jim Donovan, one of the founding members of the multi-platinum band, Rusted Root. The event also featured music by singer/songwriter James Harvey, and honored Pittsburgh’s leaders in the holistic community.
ART + SCIENCE = MAGIC!
In 2009, Kim Chestney collaborated with Steve Kilbey, front man of legendary Australian rock band, The Church, on a new media exhibition called Art, Man & Technology: A Total Immersion Experience.
“The Ballardian scene, a pastiche of romanticism and technological reliance, seems appropriate for the Pittsburgh Technology Center’s 15 Minutes Gallery — and certainly for a show entitled Art, Man and Technology…..The 19 paintings in Art, Man and Technology exhibit the same post-hippie, drug-addled futurism — let’s call it “psy-fi” — as Kilbey’s music. In fact, for each painting, Kilbey has created an audio track, played on a portable CD player. The new music won’t surprise fans: droning, buzzing guitars and psychedelic washes of voice-like synthesizers create a minimalist bed for his spoken-word pieces.” Read the full article at the Pittsburgh City Paper
